Elements of a Credit Card Processing System
Most credit card processing companies would require you to have a SSL security implementation on your website. The reason for the same is the transaction request that moves from the merchant website to the payment processing gateway can easily be hacked into and the information stolen unless the transaction is secure. Modern payment processing gateways insists on a 128 bit secure socket layer protocol to ensure the safety of the information that is transferred from the merchant website to the payment gateway. It encrypts the information and then sends them using small packets, making it difficult for anyone to hack the information. Another thing that is required for the purpose of Credit Card Processing is a merchant account that identifies the merchant’s website. Any request that comes from an unauthorized website is immediately rejected. Once a request is validated and accepted it is then transferred to the payment gateway and then payment is processed for capture.
